UCSD/Rady Children's is a university-affiliated academic pediatrics program anchored at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego, the region's only freestanding pediatric hospital, giving residents exposure across the full acuity spectrum from routine outpatient care to complex tertiary/quaternary referrals. Its border location produces a distinctive patient population drawn heavily from Mexico and refugee communities, and training extends across additional sites including UCSD Jacobs Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, and Balboa Naval Medical Center.
