This is a new, community-based general surgery residency in Paramus, NJ, sponsored academically by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai but housed within Valley Health System, a non-profit multi-specialty community institution rather than a tertiary academic medical center. The curriculum is organized around three structured service teams (Blue: vascular/general/colorectal; Green: surgical oncology/endocrine/colorectal; Red: trauma/surgical critical care at an affiliated site, plus pediatric/thoracic/breast at Valley), with a second-year transplant rotation at Mount Sinai in NYC providing exposure beyond the home site.
