This Mercer University-affiliated pediatrics program at Atrium Health Navicent is a community-based referral center serving a 30-county catchment area across Middle and South Georgia, exposing residents to both urban and rural pediatric populations with complex, regionally distinct illness patterns. With no fellows on site, residents perform all subspecialty and procedural care under direct attending supervision, yielding substantial hands-on autonomy in a small program (eight interns per class, 24 residents total).
