Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida is a community-based, academically active urology residency built around a 550-bed multispecialty hospital in Miami Beach, with a five-year structure pairing a general surgery/critical care intern year with four years of dedicated clinical urology. The program emphasizes broad operative exposure across oncology, robotics/laparoscopy, endourology, female pelvic reconstruction, pediatric urology (via Miami Children's Hospital), male voiding dysfunction, prosthetics, and reconstruction, with heavy weekly clinic involvement alongside faculty. Research is structured and expected rather than optional: each resident must initiate and complete a project annually and present at regional/national AUA-affiliated meetings, supported by ties to Mount Sinai's NCI-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center. The program values well-rounded clinical operators who can handle high case volume and outpatient continuity while still producing yearly scholarly output.
