MUSC's General Surgery Residency is a large academic, university-based program anchored at a quaternary Charleston campus that includes a Level 1 trauma adult hospital, a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, the state's only NCI-designated cancer center, and a VA hospital, supplemented by community rotations (McLeod, Tidelands, Roper) that expose residents to non-academic practice models.
