University of Cincinnati's Diagnostic Radiology program is an academic, university-based residency built on a historic department lineage (Felson, Wiot) and organized around structured, graded rotations across all nine subspecialty areas, including dedicated VA and community-site (West Chester) experience. The program offers ACGME-approved Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR), a "no-pull" policy protecting dedicated teaching time during block rotations, and layered mentorship extending from faculty to senior residents and fellows. Research participation is actively supported through funded travel to national meetings (ACR, AUR, RSNA/ARRS) for residents presenting abstracts and posters, reflecting an academic orientation without demanding a fixed research product. The program values structured progressive responsibility, informatics literacy (mandatory NIIC course), and resident wellness within a collegial, teaching-focused culture.
