Lankenau Medical Center's OB/GYN residency is a community-based, university-caliber program built around an extremely high-volume clinical service (2,800+ deliveries/year, a level III nursery, six perinatologists, eight subspecialty divisions) with no competing fellows, meaning residents themselves absorb the operative and consultative case volume in gynecologic oncology, REI, MFM, and FPMRS. The structure assigns one resident per subspecialty rotation and pairs residents directly with attendings across REI, oncology, MFM, and urogynecology, producing an unusually procedural, subspecialty-immersive four-year curriculum rather than a generalist-only track. Research is structurally embedded (mandatory PGY-4 completed project, annual Research Day, access to the on-campus Lankenau Institute for Medical Research) but framed as a scholarly requirement layered onto a clinically dominant program, not a research-first identity.
