Rutgers/RWJMS Neurology is a university-affiliated, single-hospital program based at the 610-bed Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, drawing on more than 20 subspecialty-trained faculty and named centers of clinical excellence in stroke, epilepsy, ALS, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease, with a dedicated neurocritical care unit that all residents rotate through. The program is structured to produce clinicians equally prepared for academic medicine or private practice, requiring every resident to complete a mentored scholarly project (with protected research time, an annual research day, and extra time available for those showing strong research interest) while explicitly stating fellowship outcomes across stroke, neurocritical care, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuro-oncology and neuromuscular medicine.
