Program Identity & Fit

This is a community-based, university-affiliated internal medicine residency sponsored by the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine but delivered through Endeavor Health's NorthShore hospital system in Evanston, IL. Training spans four hospitals (Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Skokie) plus a community health center serving underserved populations across 50+ zip codes in the Northern Chicago suburbs, blending community clinical volume with academic infrastructure including a large simulation center and access to a 700+ project research institute. The program supports both fellowship-bound and primary-care-oriented trajectories, offering dedicated research blocks, conference travel funding, and a notably strong fellowship match record, while its personalized/precision medicine program and genomics infrastructure represent a distinctive institutional strength.
