Program Identity & Fit

This is a five-year academic urology program based at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, serving the Bronx, Westchester and Hudson Valley with a high-volume, complex patient population spanning endourology, oncology, female pelvic reconstruction, pediatric urology and prosthetics. The curriculum layers a general surgery PGY1 year onto graded urology rotations across multiple sites (Moses, Weiler/Hutch, Wakefield, CHAM, Jacobi), with a dedicated two-month rotation at Memorial Sloan Kettering for advanced oncologic referral experience, and early, progressively autonomous operative exposure across open, endoscopic and robotic approaches. Structured AUA core curriculum didactics, a formal clinical trials program directorship, and named subspecialty fellowship leadership (FPMRS) signal both an academic and research-supportive identity while remaining grounded in dense clinical service volume. The program values residents who can function within a complex safety-net/tertiary hybrid system, take on early clinical responsibility, and engage with both high-acuity oncologic referral cases and community-based urologic care.
