Program Identity & Fit

This is a faith-based, community-embedded university-affiliated general surgery residency at AdventHealth Tampa, anchored in a single large tertiary hospital campus (the new Taneja Center for Surgery) with a broad five-year curriculum spanning acute care, transplant, vascular, thoracic, MIS/colorectal, and pediatric surgery rotations. The program is structured around case-based scholarly activity (case reports, QI projects, podium presentations) rather than a heavy basic-science research pipeline, supported by a system-wide Center for Academic Research Excellence (CARE) that provides biostatistical and mentorship infrastructure across all AdventHealth GME programs.
