Sutter Roseville Medical Center's Diagnostic Radiology Residency is a new, inaugural community-based program (first class starting 2027) built within the larger not-for-profit Sutter Health system, drawing clinical volume from SRMC, Sutter Medical Center Sacramento, and a network of outpatient imaging centers exceeding one million cases annually. The curriculum is comprehensive and subspecialty-driven, with strong exposure to neurointervention, IR (including Y-90, TACE, PAE/GAE), nuclear medicine/PET therapeutics, and stroke/trauma imaging given both hospitals' primary stroke center and trauma center designations, alongside structured board preparation (DXIT, AIRP, ABR Core/Certifying) and progressive autonomy including STAT and night float shifts. The program explicitly states graduates should be prepared for either private practice or academics, positioning itself as a balanced community-academic hybrid rather than a research-intensive or fellowship-pipeline program, though PGY-5 elective time allows mini-fellowship exploration.
