Atlantic Health's Diagnostic Radiology Residency is a four-year, community-based, university-integrated program in Morristown, NJ, built around two sites (Level I trauma tertiary care Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center) generating nearly 420,000 exams annually across all subspecialties. The program is distinguished by an internal ESIR pathway (up to two residents per class advance to an IR-weighted R4 year), a greater than 1:1 core faculty-to-resident ratio with fellowship-trained attendings in every subspecialty, and structured board preparation that yields consistently above-average ABR pass rates. Research is supported and resident participation is recognized at national/international meetings (SIR, RSNA, CIRSE), but the program's primary identity centers on high clinical volume, dense daily didactics, and graduated on-call autonomy rather than a research mission. Graduates largely pursue subspecialty fellowships, indicating the program values clinical proficiency, board readiness, and progressive procedural/consultative responsibility.
