This is a community-based, Catholic mission-driven psychiatry residency at Trinity Health Livonia, affiliated with Wayne State University, built around a 30-bed mental health unit, psychiatric emergency service, ECT, consult-liaison service, and an outpatient continuity clinic. The four-year curriculum front-loads inpatient, emergency, and neurology exposure in PGY1-2, dedicates the entirety of PGY3 to outpatient continuity care, and reserves PGY4 for forensic, ECT, crisis residential, and elective time, reflecting a service-heavy, clinically comprehensive rather than research-driven training model.
