McLaren Oakland is a community-based, MSU-affiliated osteopathic orthopaedic surgery program built around a level 2 trauma center in Pontiac, MI, with rotations distributed across a network of affiliated hospitals (Sinai-Grace, Detroit Receiving, DMC Children's Hospital, Huron Valley) to provide trauma, pediatric, hand, spine, and sports exposure. The program is heavily DO-centric, with a majority of core faculty trained through MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and several having completed residency at McLaren Oakland itself, reflecting a strong "grow-your-own" culture and multi-generational faculty continuity.
