Cedars-Sinai's OB/GYN residency is an academic, quaternary-care program embedded in a major research institution with over 100 basic and translational science laboratories, including a dedicated OB/GYN research program under Margareta Pisarska. The program produces a high proportion of subspecialty fellows across gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and complex family planning, sending graduates to strong academic fellowships nationally while also retaining several graduates as staff physicians at Cedars-Sinai itself. Its resident pool draws heavily from competitive US MD programs (USC, UC Irvine, Columbia, Emory, Wayne State), suggesting an academically rigorous selection pattern and a culture oriented toward subspecialization rather than generalist community practice. The program values residents who will pursue fellowship training and potentially remain within the Cedars-Sinai academic ecosystem as faculty or subspecialists.
