Program Identity & Fit

This is a dual-accredited (ACGME/AOA), university-affiliated community program based at two Catholic Health hospitals in Buffalo—Sisters of Charity and Mercy—supplemented by VA and Roswell Park Cancer Institute rotations, giving residents exposure to general medicine, critical care, and oncologic subspecialty electives outside a single tertiary academic core. The program explicitly frames its identity around "the realities of private practice" combined with hospital-based training, reflecting a community-practice orientation rather than a quaternary academic center.
