Saint Peter's University Hospital/Rutgers RWJMS is a community teaching hospital program built around bedside medicine, with a dedicated simulation center (Kothari Simulation Center) and structured skill progression from "learner" to "educator" across the three years. Training combines a capped-census teaching service, a structured ICU experience, night float, and a longitudinal continuity clinic serving a diverse, socioeconomically underserved population at the Adult Multispecialty Health Center, with explicit attention to social determinants of health. Career outcomes are described as mixed, spanning fellowship, hospitalist practice, and outpatient medicine, and while research/QI participation is encouraged and mentorship is individualized to career goals, the program's structural emphasis is clearly on clinical reasoning and bedside skill-building (hypothesis-driven H&P, POCUS, simulation-based procedural training) rather than a research pipeline.
