HCA Houston Kingwood's Internal Medicine program is a young community-based, university-affiliated (University of Houston/Fertitta Family COM) residency built around a 485-bed acute care hospital serving northeast Houston, with an organ-system-based, ABIM-blueprint-aligned didactic structure and a 4+1 outpatient/inpatient design centered on a dedicated 18-room continuity clinic. Research is present but supportive rather than defining: residents engage in an annual HCA Gulf Coast Division research day, resident-driven QI, and access to HCA's national scholarly infrastructure, with notable past resident placements into cardiology fellowship.
