Program Identity & Fit

This is a newer (young) HCA-affiliated community-based internal medicine residency at a 430+ bed hospital in Fort Pierce, FL, explicitly built around care of an underserved Treasure Coast population with "extensive pathology." The program is part of HCA's East Florida Division GME network, giving residents access to institutional research infrastructure (national research coordinators, HCA Scholarly Commons, a dedicated journal) even though research is supportive rather than central to the program's identity. Curriculum emphasizes ABIM-blueprint-aligned didactics, a growing simulation curriculum (new sim center planned), POCUS training, and continuity clinic experience through Whole Family Health Center, reflecting a general internist training focus rather than a subspecialty-fellowship pipeline.
