Creighton's Internal Medicine Residency in Omaha is a Jesuit, mission-driven university program sponsored by CHI Health, combining academic, VA, and private hospital training sites to expose residents to uninsured, underinsured, veteran, rural, and urban patient populations. With 82 residents (70 categorical, 12 Rural Track) and 8 in-house fellowships, the program supports multiple career pathways—including a dedicated Primary Care Track and Rural Track Program—alongside growing scholarly output concentrated in cardiology, gastroenterology, and hospital medicine (largely case reports and meta-analyses rather than bench research).
