This is a newer (first class 2021), community-based, HCA-affiliated Family Medicine residency housed at a 126-bed community hospital in Nashville, offering broad-spectrum training across inpatient family medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, surgical and medical subspecialties, and continuity clinic. As part of the large HCA Healthcare GME network, the program emphasizes evidence-based practice, systems-based learning, and resident well-being through its "Pathways to Flourishing" autonomy/belonging/competence framework, while scholarly activity is structurally supported (dedicated Scholarly Activity block, national research coordinators, HCA Journal of Medicine) rather than positioned as a primary institutional identity. Graduates are trained toward comprehensive, independent generalist practice capable of managing complex conditions and office procedures across the lifespan, reflecting a community-practice orientation rather than a subspecialty pipeline.
