This is a 50+ year old community-based, university-affiliated (FSU College of Medicine) 11-11-11 family medicine program at TMH, a 772-bed hospital in Tallahassee that also hosts four other residencies yet keeps family medicine "unopposed" on pediatric, obstetric, and emergency services. The program's identity centers on full-scope, broad-spectrum training across urban and deeply rural North Florida/South Georgia, with core family medicine faculty staffing both inpatient medicine and OB services to model integrated inpatient-outpatient practice. Scholarly activity is structured but modest (a minimum of two projects such as QI, case reports, or grand rounds per resident) rather than a driver of program identity, while curricular tracks (hospital medicine, palliative medicine) and a wide array of specialty clinics (POCUS, MSK, dermatologic procedures, addiction, adolescent medicine, integrated behavioral health) support flexible, interest-driven skill-building.
