This is a community-based, MSU-affiliated three-year emergency medicine program anchored at UMH-Sparrow Lansing, a Level 1 Trauma Center with roughly 90,000 annual ED visits (including 14,000 pediatric visits) that emphasizes early, high-volume procedural autonomy (~200 first-year procedures). The curriculum builds progressive independence with required rural rotations at UMH-Sparrow Ionia and an optional rural elective at Carson City, reflecting a genuine rural/community emergency medicine mission alongside tertiary trauma and stroke care exposure.
