Cooper's integrated (0+5) Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Residency is anchored at the largest academic medical center and only Level 1 Trauma Center in southern New Jersey, giving residents exceptionally high case volume (recent graduates exceeding the 90th percentile in open aortic, carotid, and lower extremity revascularization categories) alongside exposure to next-generation endovascular devices through active clinical trials. The program emphasizes one-on-one teaching with graduated autonomy and progressive responsibility, and faculty deliberately span both traditional fellowship-trained and modern integrated-pathway backgrounds to expose residents to varied technical philosophies. Research is structurally embedded rather than optional, with a dedicated second-year focus on clinical/basic science research, non-invasive vascular lab training, and an outpatient venous center, supported by institutional analytic research infrastructure.
