Program Identity & Fit

This is a high-volume, university-affiliated community-academic OB/GYN program built around Erlanger Health System, the region's only Level 1 Trauma Center, Level 4 Maternity Center, and tertiary NICU, generating roughly 6,000 deliveries and 5,000 gynecologic procedures annually with 24-hour in-house faculty supervision. Subspecialty exposure is substantial for a community-based program, spanning MFM, gynecologic oncology, REI (with an in-house IVF/ICSI center), MIGS, and urogynecology, and residents can graduate with national robotic surgery certification. The MFM division's STORC telehealth network for rural obstetric care and heavy involvement in resident-accessible clinical/translational research (including NIEHS-funded placental and preeclampsia work) reflect an identity that blends rural/regional service obligation with academic productivity.
