Program Identity & Fit

This is a small, new, community-based OB/GYN residency (four-year, three categorical spots/year) within the HCA Healthcare/University of Central Florida GME consortium in Pensacola, deliberately kept small to allow one-on-one faculty instruction and depth across obstetrics, gynecology, urogynecology, family planning, and MFM. The clinical environment emphasizes a mix of high- and low-risk obstetrics and general-to-complex gynecology, with robotic surgery training threaded from PGY-1 onward and a resident-run continuity clinic. Research is structurally supported (dedicated research fellow, UCF consortium data/statistical support, threaded curriculum in research design and QI) but positioned as a training competency rather than an academic mandate, and graduates are explicitly prepared for hospitalist or private practice careers rather than fellowship or academic tracks. As a new program still building its identity, it seeks residents willing to help shape their own training and take an active, adaptable role within a small, mentorship-heavy structure.
