This LSU-affiliated program is anchored at Woman's Hospital, Louisiana's largest birthing facility (8,000+ deliveries/year), giving residents high-volume obstetric and surgical exposure alongside subspecialty rotations in MFM, REI, gyn-oncology, urogynecology, and minimally invasive/robotic surgery, with robotic certification built into graduation requirements. Its stated mission centers on training physician leaders to serve a diverse, underserved Louisiana community, and the program explicitly tracks alumni retention in-state as part of its institutional identity.
