Henry Ford Wyandotte's OB/GYN residency is a community-based, osteopathically-recognized program with deep MSU-COM affiliation, training 12 residents across a high-volume clinical base (nearly 1,400 deliveries and 1,400 gynecologic surgeries annually) with in-house subspecialty coverage in MFM, gyn oncology, urogynecology and neonatology. The program emphasizes progressive resident autonomy and a structured, milestone-driven robotic/MIGS surgical curriculum (da Vinci Xi certification pathway, EMIGS), producing graduates who enter general OB/GYN practice broadly across the US rather than pursuing fellowship in large numbers. Research is present and recognized (MSU Research Day awards, ACOOG posters, occasional publications) but functions as a scholarly enrichment activity rather than a defining pillar, consistent with a DO-friendly, clinically-oriented community program. The program values residents who thrive in a high-volume, hands-on surgical training environment with strong osteopathic and MSU statewide-campus ties.
