MVHS Family Medicine Residency is a community-based, hospital-employed program in Utica, NY, centered at the Sister Rose Vincent Family Medicine Center and the newly-built Wynn Hospital, with a longstanding (since 1975) commitment to serving a highly diverse, underserved population including refugees resettled locally, supported by an in-house Language Assistance Department covering up to 30 languages. The program does not participate in clinical or bench research; instead, residents complete a required scholarly/QI project (case report, community project, or curriculum) paired with a faculty mentor, signaling that scholarly activity is a training requirement rather than a research pathway.
