This is a new, community-based family medicine training track under the Mercyhealth Graduate Medical Education Consortium, based in Lake Geneva, WI and drawing on the same integrated, community hospital system that anchors Mercyhealth's Janesville and Rockford programs. The identity is broad-scope, unopposed community family medicine: inpatient medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, minor procedures, ICU, and continuity outpatient clinics, delivered within a vertically integrated regional health system serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin rather than a tertiary academic center. Research is not a stated feature; instead the program emphasizes procedural competency, longitudinal continuity practice, and comprehensive preparation for full-spectrum practice "in any setting," consistent with a system built around primary care access and community health needs rather than subspecialty or investigative work. The program values residents oriented toward broad clinical versatility and team-based, community-anchored practice over academic or research trajectories.
