Program Identity & Fit

DVCH is Philadelphia's first Teaching Health Center, an FQHC-sponsored Family Medicine residency in which the sponsoring institution is the community health center itself rather than a hospital, reflecting a training model built explicitly around underserved, safety-net primary care. Continuity clinic occurs at Maria de los Santos (primarily Spanish-speaking) or Fairmount Primary Care Center (primarily English-speaking), with additional exposure across DVCH's broader network (MAT, HIV care, express care, women's health) and inpatient training via Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and Cooper Children's Regional Hospital.
