Atrium Health Floyd is an unopposed, community-based family medicine residency in Rome, Georgia, functioning as the region's sole training program at a Level II trauma center that serves as a regional referral hub for northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama. The program emphasizes full-spectrum, comprehensive family medicine—including obstetrics, inpatient pediatrics, ICU exposure, and a broad procedural curriculum (POCUS, colposcopy, IUD/Nexplanon insertion, joint injections, paracentesis/thoracentesis)—delivered through a patient-centered medical home model to an underserved, uninsured population supported by County Clinic and WeCare programs. It holds ACGME Osteopathic Recognition with an integrated OMT curriculum and longitudinal community-service, POCUS, and behavioral health components, reflecting an identity built around generalist breadth and community integration rather than subspecialty pipeline-building.
